Bonkers
I'm about to embark on a three-day stint of shows which either makes me really ambitious or really stupid. I'd like to think a little bit of both.
Tonight (Thursday) Wavves, Woods, Nodzzz, Blank Dogs, and Gary War are playing at Matthews Mug at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie. Not a huge fan of Wavves, but I'm big into Nodzzz and Blank Dogs so I guess that's enough incentive to drive 2 and a half hours. It'd better be free.
Tomorrow night (Friday) High Places is playing with Soft Circle and Eric Hnatow at the Pearl Street clubroom. Tickets are $13 at the door.
EDIT: THIS SHOW IS NO LONGER HAPPENING. LOW TICKET SALES CAUSED IHEG TO CANCEL. IN THE FUTURE PLEASE BUY TICKETS TO SHOWS. Either way, you can peep my write-up for the show here, even though it has since dissolved.
Saturday night A Place To Bury Strangers are playing at The Grind at Clark University in Worcester. Probably free, we'll see.
This all comes after catching a pretty solid show at the Earthfoods Cafe in the Student Union on UMass Amherst campus, presented by UMass DIY. I saw Thrust Lab (Baltimore), Mark Brown's video art (Baltimore), and Eric Hnatow. Eric's been getting better and better each time I've seen him, dating back to last May when I saw him open for Dan Deacon at Pearl Street, which probably equals out to at least half a dozen various shows.
