Paul Taylor Dance Company

Part 1 of Paul Taylor Dance Company's Promethean Fire. Pretty beautiful stuff. His company is coming to the UMass Fine Arts Center this Thursday.

Also, I was thinking about Nirvana for some reason and wanted to hear the original "Where Did You Sleep Last Night," the last song from their MTV Unplugged record. Dude's Huddie William Ledbetter, a.k.a. Lead Belly (or Leadbelly). He had quite the prison record, though he learned songs there and it was where he was tracked down to record hundreds of songs on some ancient audio device. The song, as of 1981, had at least 160 variations from the initial "In The Pines"/"Black Girl"/Where Did You Sleep Last Night," which are each bound by the themes of shame, decapitation via train, and sexuality. Heavy.

Also here's the printed review of Conor Oberst & The Mystic Valley Band.
