The Girls At Dawn

Yes, "Girls" bands are getting old. Yes, people bitch about modern female-fronted or all-female bands as all sounding the same or all sounding like Vivian Girls or all sounding boring. Who cares?

I forget where I was linked to these ladies, but The Girls At Dawn have been making me happy that I haven't completely barred from my ears any band that COULD sound like something else. They sound more Grass Widow than Vivian Girls anyway and a few Grass Widow songs are slowly becoming some of my favorites I've heard so far this summer, which means possibly maybe if I picked up the upcoming Hozac 7" and/or the Captured Tracks EP some of those songs would seep sweetly into my head as well. Wait.
